Meet Shaka

I’m Shaka Dixon, the photographer behind More Than A Selfie. Based in Santa Clara, I create portraits across the San Francisco Bay Area. Since 2016, I’ve combined portrait photography with a background in journalism and location scouting. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, find an interesting setting, and make photographs with personality.

My experience as a location scout helps me see how light, surroundings, and atmosphere can shape a portrait. Whether you imagine an urban backdrop, an open landscape, or somewhere more intimate, I’ll help you find a location that suits your theme and preferred travel radius.
